Three women have been arrested in relation to an aggravated assault in Palmerston on Tuesday that saw another woman attacked with bottles and weapons, while a 17-year-old male was charged in connection to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Karama on Monday night.
The three females, aged 30, 58 and 59, were arrested and will be charged at a later date by the NT Police following the aggravated assault incident that occurred outside a small shopping precinct in Palmerston around 3:15 pm yesterday.
Police said they received calls about a woman being attacked by a group of four females. Police alleged that the victim was struck on the head with a bottle and subsequently hit with blunt objects. A male bystander attempted to intervene and was also assaulted during the altercation.
St John Ambulance responded to the scene and transported the female victim to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment, while the male bystander received treatment for minor injuries at the scene.
The group fled the area before law enforcement arrived but was apprehended nearby shortly afterwards and taken to the Palmerston Watch House.
Meanwhile, the NT Police charged a 17-year-old male with aggravated robbery in connection to a robbery at a licenced premises on Kalymnos Drive in Karama on Monday night.
At approximately 7:45 pm on Monday, police received calls about two male teenagers who had entered a licensed establishment on Kalymnos Drive.
One of the individuals reportedly threatened a staff member with a knife and stole a sum of cash from the register. Security personnel responded, but the youths fled, heading towards Robyn Leslie Park on Koolinda Crescent.
Later, investigators from Strike Force Trident apprehended a 17-year-old male in connection with the incident. He was remanded to appear in court today.
