Three males allegedly driving dangerously in a black Toyota Hilux have been arrested after being involved in a serious head-on vehicle crash late Saturday night in Marrara, that saw a 34-year-old motorist extricated from his vehicle and taken to hospital, NT Police said.

Police said in a statement Sunday that officers spotted the black Hilux driving erratically in the northbound lane of Trower Road around 11:35pm Saturday night, heading towards Casuarina. The vehicle made a right turn onto Sabine Road, where officers attempted to pull it over, but the driver failed to stop.

A pursuit was not initiated and the Hilux continued down Sabine Road towards McMillans Road, police said.

Shortly thereafter, at around 11:40 pm, police were notified of a head-on collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of McMillans Road and Lee Point Road.

Witnesses reported seeing four males fleeing the crash scene.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 34-year-old man, was injured and required extraction from his vehicle by NT Fire and Rescue Service and was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital by St John Ambulance.

Three males, aged 20, 19 and 18, were arrested at the scene.

Police did not provide an update on the 34-year-old motorist’s condition.

The driver of the offending vehicle was one of the men apprehended and taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.

Police did not mention the whereabouts of the fourth person.

Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information or CCTV footage of the incident to contact police at 131 444 or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old male was taken into custody on Sunday morning in Alice Springs, following an aggravated incident at Lasseters Casino, police said, involving the alleged theft of two bottles of alcohol.

Police received reports of the incident shortly after 6 am. Officers arrived at the scene to find the suspect being restrained by security personnel.

Witnesses said the suspect forced his way through the entry of a bar attached to the casino, where he allegedly stole two bottles of alcohol.

During the incident, he reportedly threw a bottle at a 36-year-old male security guard who confronted him, after which, the suspect was held by security until officers arrived and took him into custody.

Charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.

In another incident on Friday night in Alice Springs, two male youths, aged 14 and 15, were arrested following a violent robbery.

Police reported that at approximately 9:15 pm, they received reports of a 24-year-old woman who had been attacked on Nicker Crescent.

The victim, riding her scooter, was allegedly confronted by two male suspects wearing face masks. The assailants reportedly struck the victim multiple times in the face and stomach before stealing her scooter and personal belongings.

She was transported to Alice Springs Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after the incident, police received reports that a service station on Larapinta Drive had triggered its duress alarms, indicating that three individuals had entered the store, stolen items, and then fled the scene.

Police arrested the suspects in connection with the incident and the investigation is still ongoing.

Anyone with further information is encouraged to contact the police at 131 444.
