  1. Total bullshit.

    This is the latest teaching fad of more than 20 differently named ones in the last 30 years.

    Jo Hersey wouldn’t know what works in classrooms because she’s never been in one as an educator.

    She’s been fed a pre-prepared media statement to read out with lots of education buzzwords and the words ‘evidence based’ tacked on the end then pretending that a school claiming imaginary gains without showing a molecule worth of evidence to prove it, is evidence of this new-not-new at all ‘explicit teaching’ idea.

    Top tip 1: teach English as a Second Language and you might get somewhere with half of your student cohort.

    Top tip 2: you had an education system that worked, then it was binned. It’s called: Bilingual education. Look it up, it’s online.
