The Motor Trade Association SA/NT has welcomed the Federal Government’s new Vehicle Efficiency Standard but cautioned that its improper implementation in the Territory could result in an additional burden for motorists.

The new standards will be critical in balancing the growth of more fuel-efficient vehicles while maintaining affordable vehicle choices for everyday NT motorists, said MTA NT chief executive Darrell Jacobs.
