Territorians celebrated at Queen’s Birthday Honours list

A group of committed Territorians were recognised for their dedicated service to the community with Queen’s Birthday Honours today.

Receiving Member of the Order fo Australia (AM) honours will be Hilary Patience Winchester f or significant service to tertiary education and for committee advisory roles, as well as Laurence Cheong Ah Toy for significant service to primary industry, education and the community.

Five others will be receiving the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for various contributions to the community, including Bob Shewring for service to veterans and their families; Judith Henschke for service to people with a disability; Julie Tyson and Bob Richards for service to the aquaculture industry, and Robert Calaby for service to aviation in the NT.

Annette Cooper has received the Australian Police Medal (APM) in recognition of more than 38 years of service to the NT Police force.

Long-time St John Ambulance operations manager Craig Garraway has received the Ambulance Service Medal (ASM) along with Taleaha Dawson and Andrew Thomas.

The Distinguished Service Medal (DSM) has been awarded to Lauren Guest
