Economic constraints, ageing infrastructure and volunteer burnout are being cited as the reasons the Tennant Creek & District Show Society Committee has cancelled the much-anticipated Tennant Creek Show, just three weeks before it was set to kick off on July 14.

The committee said it is currently in discussions with the Department of Chief Minister and Cabinet for a large community grant to fix the infrastructure defects that will ensure the show goes ahead next year.
