NT Police have charged a 17-year-old male with murder, making him the second person to be charged over the death of an 18-year-old who was found dead on a Palmerston driveway early Saturday morning.

Police said the teen was arrested yesterday by Strike Force Trident and the Dog Operations Unit and appeared in court today. He was remanded in custody until his next appearance on December 12.

Police had charged 20-year-old Dechlan Wurramarra with murder on Tuesday in connection to the death. The court list showed Mr Wurramarra was on bail at the time of the death.

They did not say if the 17-year-old had been charged with any other offences connected to the death or if he was also on bail.

Police reported that they were notified of an unresponsive adult male found on the driveway near the intersection of Driver Avenue and Waterhouse Crescent on Saturday morning.

It was determined that he had allegedly suffered head trauma.

Responding police officers declared the man deceased upon arriving at the residence on Saturday morning and a crime scene was established.

Investigators, who were trying to retrace the victim’s steps, held that the time of death was between 12am and 6:15am on Saturday.

On Tuesday, police said the investigation was continuing.

“Detectives from the Major Crime Squad are continuing the investigation and request anyone with information to contact police on 131 444 or you can report anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” police said in a statement.
