A 14-year-old male has been arrested and is facing four charges in connection to a string of indecent assaults against women in Alice Springs last week, NT Police said.

Police issued a statement last Friday about one of the assaults that occurred along the Todd River the day before, involving a male on a bike indecently assaulting a woman who was jogging near the Stott Terrace Bridge.

Police said the male was riding a black bike, and described him as having “tanned skin, tall and wearing a black shirt with the white numbers ‘2000’ on the back”.

That notification led to three additional women contacting police to report they had experienced “similar offending” on the same day in the area.

Police identified the 14-year-old, they said, and arrested him at a residence in Gillen on Wednesday morning.

He is expected to be charged with one count of gross indecency without consent and three charges of indecent touching or act.
