A 15-year-old male has been arrested after allegedly threatening a 26-year-old woman and 16-year-old girl and dragging the woman from a car as they attempted to flee the male on Friday afternoon in the Darwin CBD.
NT Police said shortly before 2pm, police had received a report of the male threatening the females.
After the failed attempt to flee the male in a car, the woman and girl took shelter in a nearby unit.
But police said the 15-year-old male then “forcefully gained entry” to the unit and threatened the girl before “leaving the scene with her”.
“Police located and arrested the youth on Saturday,” police media manager Rob Cross said.
“He has since been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of damage to property.”
Police did not say what happened to the 16-year-old girl or what injuries she may have sustained in the attack.
The male was to appear in court on Monday.
