NT Police are searching for a teen who allegedly sexually assaulted two women in a car park at Casuarina Square on Friday night.

Police said the male teen approached a woman from behind who was loading shopping bags into her car at around 5pm on Friday and indecently assaulted her.

The offender left the scene after the woman yelled at him and later reported the incident to police.

Police said they were reviewing CCTV footage of that incident on Saturday when they came across footage of the same teen sexually assaulting an unconscious female in a loading bay at the shopping centre shortly after the first woman.

“The victim appeared to remain unconscious throughout and may be unaware she was assaulted,” said Detective Acting Superintendent Justin Bentley.

“The offender is described as an Aboriginal male, in his teens with long curly hair. At the time of offending, he was wearing a black cap, black t-shirt, white shorts and black shoes.”

Acting Supt Bentley said sex crimes detectives were taking the incidents “very seriously”.

“What has happened to these women is completely unacceptable,” he said.

“This youth appeared to be acting spontaneously and we encourage all shoppers to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to police or centre security.

“The public has a right to feel safe and to be able to go about their business.”

Police said anyone with information or dash-cam footage of the youth is urged to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting reference number 10081775.
