I trust my message finds you and your families refreshed and energised after the three consecutive long weekends. I, for one, used the Easter long weekend to recharge my batteries. I’m now invigorated and ready to continue on the campaign trail!
Thus far, I’ve been busy making headway, leading up to polling day on the May 21, 2022. I’ve been a presence in the community which allows me to hear your many concerns. I’ve had a lot of discussions regarding potential business growth in the Territory, job security and vaccine mandates as well as Aged Care facility bed shortages.
These are critical issues in the Territory that need to be addressed. This is particularly true when the local government continues with wasteful spending, such as the $10 million proposed cycling velodrome in Millner. This is money that can be used to fulfil some of these major gaps in our community.
I’m also hearing some concern over the 5G towers popping up all over the city. This is yet another example of the Federal government prioritising money over the health of their constituents.
The plan over the next week or so, is for my team and I to travel down to Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs. I want to hear what our fellow Territorians’ pressing issues are, and how I can help if I’m elected as a Senator for the Northern Territory.
Recently, I interviewed Parleenee, a Bathurst Island Elder, regarding his concerns for his remote community. Moreover, later in the week, I’ll be interviewed by Maria Zeee from Zeee Media. Both interviews will be posted on my Facebook page for easy access and transparency.
I’d like to invite ALL members of our community to meet me at the Cypriot Hall on Tuesday May 17 at 6:30pm for a Question & Answer session. Here, I will answer any of your pressing concerns or doubts prior to this Federal election.
Also, included below are GAP’s suggestions for Territorians on How to Vote for the upcoming Federal election.
Signing off with a Happy Mother’s Day to all of our unsung heroes, our Mums. Don’t know how you all do it!
