Oh my God! Surely, please on bended knee, tell me that St John’s aren’t actually in the belief that Territorians buy this Yelliw snow! Firstly it’s “ Not for profit”!- Hiw many and how much money do the executives earn? Secondly, – From Darwin to the Siuth Australian Border, ending at a town named Port Augusta, is a distance of 2720kms!!! That’s a lot of fuel both leaving the NT and re- entering the NT for a mostly public owned vehicle conducting non- company business! That’s 5440 kms of fuel, vehicle wear and tear, maintenance and reduced service life to provide the services the public expect such an asset to provide! Absolutely absurd, and l haven’t mentioned insurance, hopefully no fines or tolls! From the officer who used the vehicle, al the way through management that knew and/ or approved such a breach of use there can only be Termination of employment! I have mentioned it before- is there a special course that these criminals must pass or are they anothervdancing baking group of LuaR Finnochiaro and the ALPCLP! Christ, not a day seems to pass without hearing no e if the “ most incredible BS” it’s almost as if we are living in a reality TV show!
Is this another example of the perceived impunity seemingly across the ‘upper’ tiers in Darwin? We can only imagine the swoosh of the guillotine if one of the regular workers attempted something similar…?
This kind of thing happens from time to time in the NT…. In the late 1970’s, a Police Sergeant drove a marked police vehicle from Avon downs to Townsville to go on a personal shopping trip. In the 2000’s, a Police Superintendent drove from Darwin to Perth to visit family in a police vehicle (and paid for the fuel with the corporate police credit card). Regularly the Corrections officers use Prison equipment to undertake personal home projects. CEO’s of NT Govt agencies regularly use Govt vehicles for family road trips interstate, or to use as a personal commuter vehicle after hours. All this is pretty much public knowledge to the long term NT Public.
