NT Police are investigating nine youths who allegedly assaulted three other youths and were involved in two aggravated robberies at Casuarina Shopping Centre on Friday afternoon.
Police said they received reports of up to nine youths “causing disturbances” throughout the centre and at the bus exchange between 3pm and 4pm with three children arrested for their involvement.
“Police believe the group were involved in two aggravated robberies and an assault in which three male youths received minor injuries,” said Senior Sergeant Kaye Pemberton.
“One of the group was also allegedly involved in an assault at a shopping centre on Moil Place the night prior. Police are still seeking to identify the victim.”
Police arrested a 10-year-old and two 11-year-olds in relation to the offences, with the children on remand and expected to appear in court today.
“This senseless violence on unsuspecting victims is absolutely unacceptable. Investigations are continuing to locate the remaining offenders,” Snr Sgt Pemberton said.
“Police are calling for any witnesses, who haven’t done so already, to make contact on 131 444. We are particularly urging a male victim, wearing a grey hoody, who was assaulted at the Casuarina Bus Exchange, to contact police to provide a statement.
