NT Police are continuing their search for missing woman Angie Fuller through some of the Territory’s most remote terrain after she disappeared on January 9, 15km west of the Stuart Highway on the Tanami Road and have assured the community the search has been “thorough” over the last 11 days and has included a criminal investigation.
Assistant Commissioner Michael White said despite “social media commentary”, the police have undertaken a “thorough investigation that has been running parallel to search efforts” and that police now suspect there may have been another person involved in the disappearance.
“At the time of her last sighting there was an incident involving two vehicles that we believe involved the vehicle that Angie was driving and the other vehicle,” he told media on Friday.
“We’re continuing to investigate evidence in relation to that incident and see whether they are fully involved with each other but certainly that was the last time she was seen.
“Certainly we’re looking at all avenues in relation to the reason we can’t find her — there’s reports about social media and other reports that suggest that there has been a person involved in this.
In a statement, Mr White added that “over the past 11 days, Northern Territory Police, with the assistance of the Northern Territory Emergency Service, have covered a large tract of difficult terrain using foot searches, drones, helicopters, ATVs, motorbikes, vehicles and specialist local Aboriginal Community Police Officers, who have extensive knowledge of the region, to try and locate the missing woman.”
Mr White said the search would continue and would also involve the investigation. He said Ms Fuller had still not contacted her family which he said was “unusual for her”.
“Police have been in contact with Angie’s family and will continue to provide support and updates throughout the ongoing investigation,” he said.

“Police are urging motorists, who were travelling along the Tanami Road, between 10pm on 9 January and 9am the following day, to contact us.
“Anyone with information on Angie’s whereabouts is urged to contact police on 131 444 or via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Please quote reference number 10228143.”
Ms Fuller, 30, was last seen on January 9, 2023 approximately 15km west of the Stuart Highway on the Tanami Road.
Last Sunday police had said they expected Ms Fuller to be alive and still suspect she is.
“It’s possible she’s still out there walking around, it’s possible that she’s avoiding us, it’s possible that something untoward happened to her, or she’s just succumbed to the environment that she’s walking in,” Mr White said.
Police described Ms Fuller as of Asian appearance, about 165cm tall, with a medium build and long black hair accented by purple streaks and was last seen wearing a black Nike singlet and a cream skirt.
