Northern Territory Police conducted a land, sea and air search for a missing man named Angelo at East Point Reserve in Darwin yesterday after triangulation of his mobile phone identified the area as his last known location.
In a statement on Monday NT Police director of communications Mark Wilton said police were continuing to look for 44-year-old Angelo who was last seen going into a service station on Bagot Road in Ludmilla at about 8:05pm on January 3.
He was wearing a beige wide brimmed bucket hat and a dark T-shirt with the brand Everlast written across the front in white letters, CCTV footage from the service station shows.
In a statement posted on social media NT Police said that Tuesday’s search for Angelo was supported by multiple units.
“There is a high presence of police with members from the Search and Rescue Section, Territory Mounted Unit, Cultural Reform and general duties within the vicinity,” the statement said.
The ABC reported an unnamed police spokesperson said police had triangulated his mobile phone and that East Point Reserve was his last known location.
In an earlier statement on January 8, police said Angelo was reported missing on January 6 and believed to be wearing either white tracksuit pants and a black shirt or a Port Adelaide football shirt and black shorts.
Police and Angelo’s family are calling for anyone who knows his whereabouts to call 131 444 (please quote reference number NTP2600002410).
