The CLP Government has committed to “fast-tracking” the majority of recommendations from the Approvals Fast Track Taskforce report to cut red tape and boost the economy, including extending food business registrations to three years, exempting “low-risk” electrical works from needing a certificate of compliance and extending responsible service of alcohol certificates from three to five years.
The report, Saying Yes to Business, was provided to the government by the taskforce led by former Property Council NT president and taskforce chair Mark Garraway and a panel of industry representatives from construction to hospitality, identifying 70 recommended actions to remove regulatory barriers that would help small businesses across the Territory.
