  1. The NT has 28000++ NTG Public Servants!! What are they all doing? Whats each Public Servants tangible output?

  2. Who is responsible and accountable? What will the consequences be?

    • No one and nothing, respectively.

      • You’ve hit the nail on the head MAlice. So long as the entrenched three wise monkey culture persists accountability and ethical conduct will be continually eroded in the NTG. ICAC is an expensive waste of time and money. The Chief Minster was spot on when she described it as dysfunctional recently. The newly legislated super ethics entity is deeply flawed and costly. The better course – abolish ICAC and invest some of the savings in adequate staffing for the office of Ombudsman, Information Commissioner and Auditor – General. Modernise and reform the relevant statutes – in consultation with the Territory community and stakeholders. Good policy and good politics.

  3. Did you actually read that engineers comments, they are not fit for service, he had not even seen a picture, the bricks were a facade not structural. The building is good for another 100 years if the maintenance is bought up to date.

    • Boof theirs Department of Infrastructure planning and Environment engineers on massive pays in dongas at RDH and walking around RDH all day

The place is operationally in shambles and now we have seen what the side of a cyclone cat 3 does to that building. We would be having a different discussion if RDH got hit by the full force of the cyclone.

I know people who are located right near the disaster area and they just missed the bricks coming down.

I am sure the current ceo, not known for his high levels of education and not for his massive health experience, combined with his many wins at DCDD ( I’ll name em: Acacia,SerPro,eRecruit, all qualified disasters) will handle this disaster with transparency and accountability

  4. At least one cause of the problem was Canberra’s Reconstruction Commission focusing on destroying some 400 families by refusing to certify completed homes. As a welfare officer at the time, I saw the evidence myself, pure malevolent crucifixion of domestic home-owners repairing their dwellings to enable their families to return, while ignoring RDH certification and that of other government buildings. NT News editor, Jim Bowditch ran a feature on this and by then it was common knowledge. This was well-before self-government.

  5. Territorian(s) don’t really care about which Party has or has not fulfilled their responsibilities in delivering required certification of Public Buildings. They do care that either Party in Government fully delivers absolutory all responsibilities required of their term in “Office” .

Neither ALP or CLP appears to have done so?

An RDH or TIO Stadium failure is a direct abandonment of “Office” accountability. No explanation required or acceptable. Delay is an “offence”. Rectification, a priority.

Neither Party has met their responsibilities and neither is fit for “Office”.

  6. (Sorry) “absolutely”
