Qantas to fly Darwin to Singapore

Qantas has announced it will be flying from Darwin to Singapore beginning in December this year.

The company said there would be more than 60,000 seats on the route annually and it would allow passengers a Qantas connection to London and connections to other destinations across Europe and Asia with partner carriers.

Fares are starting at $690 return and are available for booking starting from today through travel agents or direct from Qnatas.

“The direct service is not just great news for Territorians wanting to visit Singapore, but also for those travelling to London, Europe and across Southeast Asia, with connections to popular destinations like Phuket and Kuala Lumpur with our partner airlines, saving hours of travel time,” Qantas International chief executive officer Cam Wallace said.

“This new route also allows us to restore the link to the UK which was established when international borders first reopened after the pandemic and we temporarily re-routed our London flight via Darwin with the support of the Northern Territory Government and Darwin Airport.”

It’s believed the flights are not commencing until December due to the ongoing runway works at the Darwin Airport.

Mr Wallace said the new route begins on December 9, with the airline initially flying five days weekly with the dual-class Embraer E190 aircraft, which will be increased to daily flights starting March 2025.

He said the E190 aircraft’s size and range were fit for use at the Darwin Airport which could not accommodate larger aircraft at present.

The route had been formally operated by Jetstar Asia until 2022 and before that by Qantas itself until 2006.

  1. I will never get on Qantas or Jetstar again.
They stole my money I was owed in credit by making it impossible to retrieve online and even harder to talk to someone to resolve the issue My money has now expired apparently
Their carry on with the YES vote was pathetic and in fact convinced me to vote No
There is absolutely no service at all .
In fact they need to change their name to QAAS because they do nothing for the NT except rip it blind.
    To Hell with them
