  1. How can this happen?

I have it on good authority that staff from the Office of the Children’s Commissioner lodged complaints with HR and OCPE in 2016 and 2017 about the intentions of Ms Gwynne who was working diligently to install her friends in the office by bullying staff out of their positions and creating non-existent jobs to suit her agenda, and ultimately fulfil her plans. Even the CE of the Department of Attorney General at the time knew all about it.

HR did nothing, OCPE did just as little and her CE (Shanahan) turned a blind eye, and Gwynne was left unchecked to continue her ways. Oh, and her then Assistant Commissioner (Ms Hucks), who was later overlooked, also did nothing when staff approached her for help.

Then, as predicted, when the good and honest staff left the toxic work environment, the Commissioner was left to achieve her planned outcomes.

All the while, those who are meant to ensure this type of behaviour doesn’t occur sat idly by and let it happen. Now you have proven the NTG is clearly unable to stop the corruption and incompetence.

At what point does the ICAC get involved in all of this? Corruption starts at the top and must be called out and people held accountable.

How many gazillions of $ have been wasted so far and how much $ will NTG pay in compensation I wonder.

    • Hey Nobody: I have read and understand every line you have written: While you are upset, What you have described is a boring Tuesday in the NT Government where everyone spends more time getting there weirdo friends and vaguely deformed relatives into the Department!
      Its rife!
My limited understanding of the case is that one party was going to call Senior Public Servants as witnesses and then outline how many of their useless kids and family they have employed…..

A sizeable percentage of the NT Government could be investigated if Colleen Gwynne had been charged for hiring her Super experienced,(10+ Years As Police HR Director) friend!

  2. They never had enough evidence but dragged her name through mud !
Welcome to the Labour Government’s No Consequences Territory!
Lesson to all Territorians: Do not rock any boys clubs!

  3. Who gets to pay Costs?????
Has this been designed to bankrupt the poor woman ???
I hope she gets a monumental eye watering payout that makes ex PFES HR Director Laura Dawson’s payout seem tiny!

  4. I think the real question here is who was the lead investigation officer. Surely the case fell apart because maybe they didn’t do their job properly,The DPP only put forward the Police case for the Crown the police supply the facts. So let’s look at who in the NT Police put the file together.

    • Oh Bees1 – Get a grip. The Detectives put a case forward and the DPP (very well paid and so-called expert lawyers) decided there was sufficient evidence to prosecute.

Read the article and then the court transcripts and you will see the DPP stuffed it up.

An air-tight case stuffed by an overthinking lawyer. Not the first nor the last time that will happen sadly.

Not guilty verdict on a legal technicality does not mean one is actually not guilty. Maybe our esteemed ICAC will now take over and report the truth.

    • I think there may have been unimaginable pressure from the Top to go after this person, tarnish her name in the media and then drop the charges!

  5. What a tangled web. I would like to look at the administration of DPP (I call it the Department of Selective Prosecutions DSP) by its previous director Fat Jack aka Jack Karczewski. He rooted the department during his reign. https://mediareleases.nt.gov.au/article?id=34534
