Darwin Private Hospital operator Healthscope will extend maternity services for an extra seven weeks, after initially ordering a mid-April shutdown, with 45 of 114 expectant families estimated to now give birth at the facility, the NT Government said.
Health Minister Steve Edgington announced on Thursday that the private maternity services will now continue past the expected April 17 closure date to June 6, 2025.
