A pregnant woman was allegedly indecently assaulted by a male aged between 10-and-15-years-old while she was walking along a footpath in Alice Springs yesterday afternoon, NT Police said, and are seeking the public’s help to locate him and an accomplice.

Police said the pregnant woman was walking on the footpath behind a shopping centre on Gregory Terrace at around 5:20pm when she was approached by two male Aboriginal youths and allegedly “indecently assaulted” before the pair fled.

It is alleged only one male assaulted the woman. He was described as being between 10-and-15-years-old and was believed to have been wearing an oversized black t-shirt, black cap, knee-length shorts and sneakers.

Police did not provide information on the condition of the pregnant woman.

“Anyone who may have any information or witnessed the incident is urged to contact police on 131 444. Please quote reference number 9978267,” the statement said.
