The NT’s Power and Water Corporation has asked the federal energy regulator to approve an eight per cent annual increase on utility tariffs every year until 2028-29, it was revealed at Budget Estimates hearings Thursday morning.
But exactly how much Territorians’ bills will go up is yet to be determined and will vary between households and businesses, the NT’s largest energy retailer Jacana said.
“We have tried to keep our operating costs in check and so that’s not a large or significant contributing factor,” said Power and Water CEO Djuna Pollard.
