Police seek man who allegedly stabbed woman multiple times in Alice Springs

NT Police are seeking the public’s assistance to locate an Alice Springs man who allegedly entered a home in Larapinta overnight and stabbed a woman multiple times.

Police said they received a report of the domestic violence incident some time during the night and responded to the scene to find the 38-year-old man had fled and no other people were injured.

The 41-year-old woman was taken to Alice Springs Hospital with stab injuries to her upper body which were not considered life-threatening.

Police said the man is not considered a danger to the community, “however should not be approached”.

He is described as Aboriginal with a dark complexion, 170cm tall with a medium build and dark collar-length hair.

He was reportedly last seen wearing a green t-shirt, light-blue baggy jeans and a black baseball cap.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is asked to immediately contact police at 131 444, quoting reference number 9694579.

The latest reported domestic violence incident in Alice Springs follows a 30-year-old man being arrested on Tuesday morning for assaulting a woman at an address in Walpiri Camp at around 11am.

Police said that man allegedly drove off in a reckless manner after committing the assault and refused to stop for police.

Police pursued the man and later arrested him near Charles Creek Camp.

Police are also asking anyone who may have witnessed that incident to contact them, referencing case number 9694140.
