An inmate who escaped from the Holtze Youth Prison yesterday remains on the run, with NT Police appealing to the public for help to locate them.

Police director of communications Mark Wilton said the 17-year-old prisoner broke out of the Corrections Department facility about 6.45pm and ran away.

He said General duties, Dog Operations and Drone Units were used to find him, but he has not be located.

Despite calls for the public to help find the escapee, police provided no description, including the prisoner’s gender.
