Police searching for person who sent man to hospital after throwing ‘object’ at moving car

NT Police are searching for the person who allegedly threw an unknown object at a black Mazda early Saturday morning sending the driver to hospital with “significant injuries” and potential lifelong issues.

Police said the incident occurred around 1:30am Saturday morning when the black Mazda CX7 was travelling inbound on McMillans Rd near Malak Crescent.

A person allegedly threw “an object” at the vehicle, striking the 25-year-old passenger causing significant injuries, requiring treatment at RDH.

The seriousness of the offence carries a possible penalty of life imprisonment, police said.

 

 

Serious Crime detectives are currently investigating and asking for the public’s help in identifying the assailant. They did not say what the object was.

“The dangerous actions of the persons responsible for this incident could cause lifelong issues for the victim,” said Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said.

“These actions constitute serious criminal offences which could carry life imprisonment.”
