NT Police are investigating two separate deaths over the weekend, one involving a 39-year-old woman in Leanyer and the other involving a 58-year-old man in Wadeye.

At around 12:30am Monday, police received reports of an unresponsive woman found near the Leanyer water park. Police said they believe the woman was walking with a man she knew when she suddenly “ran out of breath and lost consciousness”.

It is believed the man attempted to perform CPR but was unable to revive her. He reportedly ran to a nearby shopping centre to contact police.

Paramedics from St John’s Ambulance arrived on the scene but pronounced the woman deceased.

Police have initiated a preliminary investigation and believe the woman may have died from “a medical incident”.

Meanwhile, police are calling on anyone with relevant information in connection with the death of a 58-year-old man late Saturday afternoon in Wadeye.

Police said they received a report from the local clinic around 5:50pm indicating that a man had been brought in unresponsive by family members.

Despite efforts to revive him, including CPR administered at the clinic, the man was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, police said.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, and investigations are ongoing.
