NT Police are calling on anyone with information about a vehicle that was possibly deliberately set on fire in Larapinta, Alice Springs early Monday morning to come forward to assist with investigations.
Police media manager Rob Cross said in a statement the fire began about 5am in the vehicle on Ellery Drive, and was put out by NT Fire service about 6:25am.
“Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have relevant information, including dash-cam footage, to come forward,” Mr Cross said.
Photos sent in by some witnesses to community Facebook page Action for Alice 2020 shows the front portion of a white van engulfed in flames.
There were two other vehicles in front of the burning van which also caught fire.
Witnesses are urged to contact police on 131 444 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
