NT Police are investigating the “suspicious” death of a woman in her 40s at a bush camp in Karama in the early hours of Monday, adding that they have not yet ruled out the possibility of foul play.

Authorities said while an NT Police mobile car was patrolling in the area around 12:30am, a man flagged them down on Vanderlin Drive and sought assistance for the woman.

Police responders reportedly administered CPR on the woman.

St John Ambulance NT also responded and tried to revive the woman; however, paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

NT Police Detective Senior Sergeant Jakson Evans said police will investigate how the woman died.

“It is too early in the investigation to say whether or not there was any foul play involved, and we are treating the death as suspicious until it is determined otherwise,” Sr Sgt Evans said.

He did not provide any additional information and it is unclear if any suspects are being interviewed.

Police are seeking public information that could assist the investigation of the suspicious death of the woman and urged anyone with information to call police on 131 444.
