A man who walked off from Kings Canyon Resort on Sunday after an alleged fight with another person and who was the subject of a police search has appeared in Alice Springs local court to face charges relating to the alleged fight.

NT Police media manager Rob Cross said police had found Timothy Rodwell, 41, during an air and land search of the Kings Canyon area on Wednesday evening about two kilometres from the resort. It’s understood he was found with the use of a drone.

He was taken to Alice Springs Hospital suffering from mild dehydration Wednesday night.

On Thursday, Mr Rodwell appeared in court charged with aggravated assault and damage to property.

Earlier on Wednesday, police said Mr Rodwell allegedly walked into the bush from the Kings Canyon Resort following an ‘altercation’ with another person on Sunday about 7:15pm.

He said they did not know if he had any food or water.

The man’s movements and whereabouts for three days remained unclear. Police did not say why they did not publicly announce his disappearance until nearly 72 hours had lapsed.
