Police charge 14-year-old with house break-in and car theft

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with car theft and breaking into a home in Tennant Creek, NT Police have said.

Police media manager Rob Cross said police alleged that between 8:30pm on August 14, and 8:30am on August 15, the boy broke into a house and stole some items and a car.

The teen was been charged with one count each of, aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful entry, stealing, and driving a vehicle without a licence, Mr Cross said.

There were no further details provided, including how the teen was caught or what the aggravating factor with the car theft was.

Mr Cross said the boy was bailed to appear in court on September 13.
