Police said around 1:15pm on Monday, Santa Teresa officers identified a male who had his parole revoked while patrolling Titjikala and apprehended the man.

While taking the man into custody, police said a “group of people nearby” armed themselves with rocks and “threw them at the attending members and the police vehicle”.

“Both members were struck to the body and were forced to withdraw,” police media director Mark Wilton said in a statement.

“The vehicle also sustained damage.

“The offender fled the scene on foot and remains outstanding.”

Mr Wilton said the officers suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
