A couple from Palmerston has won the TattsLotto draw this past weekend, taking home a total division one prize of more than $2.1 million, with the pair saying they will share their winnings with their parents.
The couple had one of the 14 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4281, drawn on Saturday July 30.
Officials from TattsLotto had no way of contacting the winners to disclose the news and had to wait for the ticketholders to come forth as the winning entry was unregistered.
The husband said they had been crying tears of happiness ever since finding out they won and told their parents straight away.
“Our parents are right next to us now,” he said. “We want to share this moment with them! The main priority is to look after them. They mean the most to us.
“Once we’re able to sit down and process it all, we would love to celebrate as a family.”
The winning entry was purchased at Paper & Pen at the Gateway Shopping Centre in Yarrawonga.
Rharnia Hewett, Paper & Pen staff member, said they were tremendously happy to have sold a division one winning entry.
“We can’t believe someone has walked away with a winning ticket worth $2.1 million from our locally owned store, and we love that we were a part of the winning moment,” Ms Hewett said.
“We can just imagine the Palmerston community is stoked for this winning couple whose lives have now changed forever, in the best way possible.”
The winning numbers in Saturday’s Lotto draw 4281 on 30 July 2022 were 17, 21, 12, 26, 8, 42, while the supplementary numbers were 35 and 13.
Across Australia, there were 14 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4281—three each in New South Wales and Western Australia, two each in Victoria, Tasmania, and Queensland, and one each in South Australia and the Territory.
