The October Business Month 2025 program will see over 70 event partners holding over 200 events throughout the month, with local and national business leaders providing insight through inspirational speeches and plenty of professional development opportunities and seminars across the Territory.

This year’s theme is “Play to our strengths”, which will focus on three main issues, including the use of AI technology; workforce attraction and talent retention; and resilience in business.

The program will feature three major keynote events, two in Darwin and one in Alice Springs, headlined by Caroline Creswell, the founder and CEO of Carman’s Kitchen muesli brand and Simon Griffiths, the co-founder and CEO of Who Gives A Crap, the eco-friendly toilet paper brand that donates 50 per cent of its profits to building toilets in developing countries.

This year will also see the Business Support Showcase in Alice Springs, which brings together various service providers to assist Territorians in growing their businesses, and the OBM Platinum Sponsor, NAB, will present economist Tapas Strickland to discuss the Territory’s economy in both Darwin and Alice Springs.

Additionally, feature events include the first Darwin Rural Business Connect networking event in Humpty Doo, hosted by AusIndustry, and the Business Futures Forum aimed at shaping the future of business in Palmerston.

Minister for Trade, Business and Asian Relations Robyn Cahill said there will be a wide range of in-person and online events for businesses to upskill, reskill and network. Topics covered include cyber security, AI, growth and scale, financial literacy, talent assessment and retention, workplace wellness and mental health, digital marketing, public speaking and strategies for business success.

Ms Cahill said three new success stories from the Territory have been added to the lineup. These include Brook Summers from Studio B Designs, Doug McBean from North Horizon Heli Adventures, and Crystal Pollitt from Bark n’ Bath.

All Territory success stories will be showcased at keynote events and also feature Anneliese Grazioli, Dan Richards, Vicki-Leigh Lettice, Anita Synnott, Paul Graham, and Laura-Jane (LJ) Devlin, she said.
