The number of NT Police constables has dropped compared to a decade ago, and overtime figures show 72 additional police officers are needed just to keep up with demand, the NT Police Association president has said.
The NTPA’s Nathan Finn said a breakdown of the total police numbers provided by the NT government showed there were 863.14 full-time equivalent constable positions, 23 less than 2013-14, when the annual report showed there were 886.49 FTE constable positions.
