Australia’s housing crisis is set to worsen, particularly in the NT, warns a new report that outlines factors such as rising international student numbers, natural population increases, and overseas migration in some states as key contributors.

The Property Council of Australia said in its new report that the NT needs 12,500 new homes built by the decade’s end. However, it is currently struggling through the lowest approval rate in the country.
