NT Health refuses to explain what led it to order an ‘external’ governance review of St John Ambulance NT, after the review terms of reference show it was brought about following investigations into clinical cases, instead issuing a statement to now claim the review is a “standard quality assurance activity”.

Last week the NT Independent published an article based on the terms of reference for the ‘clinical governance review’, which were endorsed by NT Health chief executive Dr Marco Briceno on March 6, who wrote in the document that it was intended to improve the processes for reporting concerns about treatment and would establish a fit-for-purpose “clinical governance framework”.
