Almost 2,000 Territory seniors received overpayments through a government rate relief program after the government’s provider botched the payouts, leaving the department moving to claw back nearly $500,000 from the seniors.

NT concession scheme users were reportedly overcompensated up to $300 each on October 30 after the concession payment was made direct to the seniors’ bank accounts instead of through local council rates, which reportedly led to the doubling up.
