The Fyles Government’s 2023 Budget has failed to adequately address pressing law and order issues, says the CLP Opposition and the union representing police, as the ongoing crime crisis across the Territory continues unabated.

While the government has claimed its budget funding priorities are for “justice reinvestment” to “affect long-term, generational change”, the Opposition says it’s time to restore law and order on the streets immediately, but that the “lacklustre budget” failed to address community safety concerns.
