Three Aboriginal community police officers have filed a class action in the Federal Court against the Northern Territory Government alleging they were subjected to systemic racial discrimination and racial vilification while serving in the Northern Territory Police.
One of the class action’s lead applicants, Shawn Lewfatt, who has served as an ACPO in the NT since 1998, said the action, which was lodged on July 17, raised important issues regarding the conduct and culture of the agency and allegations of racial abuse directed towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over decades.
Why are they not suing the people that vilified them
They must know who they were and when it happened
I don’t see why I should yet again have to pay for something that was said or done by someone else many years ago
Oh that’s right because Governments are a soft touch and a money tree for anyone with a grievance real or not. Mention the R word and everyone melts at the knees
