  1. 2016-2020 NTG ALP Treasurer Nicole Manison was the most incompetent, unqualified & laziest Treasurer in NT history as debt ballooned from $1.8b to $8b. At the same time she also fitted in two babies during these 4 years.

Seriously women if you wish to become an MLA, a responsible time consuming job which needs focus & commitment, think before you take a job from someone who has the time & ability because the consequence for tax-payers has been catastrophic. Darwin is now so in debt we all suffer.

    • Darwin is now so in debt we all suffer….for decades if not for ever! There is no way that Debt will be paid of by the fledgling, backwater of a economy that we have!

  2. I find it very disturbing that there are clowns out there that would vote for the terrible excuse as a chief minister.

    • Those “clowns” are 28,000 NT Public Servants (NTPS) who currently earn 30% to 40% of their Private Industry counterparts without the pressure to actually deliver anything.

And I hear rumblings of over the top working conditions such as 9 day work weeks PLUS Generous work from home provisions will be offered as this particular elections bribe to the 28000 NTPS voting block. Last elections bribe was a generous pay rise a few days out from the election day.

The clueless CLP Leadership, with 7 consecutive failed elections and by-elections to her name, has no response or any idea about the economy in general. Is it me, or the CLP Leader is not interested in winning any election?

      • Correction: 9 Day Work Fortnights

  3. “The 24/25 Budget will rely on predominately federal money, making up 72 per cent of all revenue . . . or $6.28 billion”. For heavens sake why would territorians continue accepting ‘self government’ other than for the enjoyment of flagellation? Both ALP and CLP Territory Governments have both proven at the best incompetent and at worst totally to and for their lackadaisical unaccountability’s.

If the “Feds” monies are all that is keeping territorians afloat. Why suffer? With Climate Threat yet to reach full impact . . . all future Budgets can only ‘bloom”?

  4. The Territory has gone backwards.

  5. It is very telling when the Government, that has allowed all these areas of need to go UN-funded for the full term of their time in office, All of a sudden think its OK to explode the budget figures to far beyond their own forecasts in order to correct all of the problems their lack of expedient, constructive and restorative actions and interventions have caused just before an election and at the same time that the Auditor general discloses their failure to deliver their own closing the gap outcomes. just saying!!!
