Hurting NT tourism operators affected by floods will be able to apply for grants of up to $5,000 to repair or replace damaged business equipment and infrastructure, the Finocchiaro CLP Government has announced, in response to calls for urgent financial assistance and a tourism bailout package ahead of the predicted slow upcoming tourism season.

The grants come after tourism operators called on the government for help weeks ago, stating the severe weather over one of the wettest wet seasons on record had severely impacted their businesses, with one operator hit by three floods in the Douglas Daly region estimating the total damage to her holiday park business at more than $600,000.
