A private development in Berrimah has seen 58 new housing lots opened up, as part of a larger development of the area, including Boulter Rd.

The residential estate is being developed by the Keogh family and is the result of the Territory Government’s Berrimah North Area Plan, which also includes plans to upgrade Boulter Road.

Infrastructure Minister Eva Lawler, said that the Territory Labor Government is making sure that the right infrastructure is in the right place, at the right time to pave the way for the entry of more private investments, sustainable jobs, and rapid growth and development.

“We are investing $15 million over the next five years to bring the land to market across the Territory. Parkside Berrimah is an example of private developers and government working together,” Ms Lawler said.

Upcoming infrastructure upgrades to Boulter Road will help boost the development potential in the area, the government said. The initial phase of the upgrade will focus on the construction of an underground stormwater pipe to divert water and reduce the risk of flooding, a long-standing issue on Boulter Road.

The second phase of the development will upgrade Boulter Road to an urban profile road that will provide better accessibility and convenience for both residential and commercial properties along the road.

The government has claimed the Parkside development has created 100 local jobs, contributing $8.5 million to the Northern Territory’s economy since its launch last year.
