The first on-country Vocational Education Training “prototype” program in the NT will provide more VET courses for remote students to get them on a pathway to work, which will in turn reduce crime, the Chief Minister has said.
Located at the Tjuwanpa Outstation Resource Centre, 130 km west of Alice Springs, the new remote training hub provides services to the local Ntaria community, with 16 Ntaria school students being the first to participate in the training hub, in partnership with community development providers.
great idea in principle but where will the jobs come from on country? the majority of indigenous do not want to leave their communities resulting in the current problems they are having. if they are going to learn new trades/skills there needs to be jobs available for them to go into or its all been wasted
