The United States is planning to set up a US Air Force facility at the RAAF base in Darwin, according to a US government contracting document that was released in July and recently reported by a US-based defence and intelligence publication.
The new operations facility will cost US$26 million ($40 million AUD) and is scheduled for construction in 2024, another US Government budgeting document released earlier this year revealed.
