The Finocchiaro Government will employ an executive on close to $250,000 a year to oversee the renovation of prisons and the construction of a new prison and work camps.
The position of executive director of infrastructure and facilities in the Corrections Department has been advertised, with its existence first reported by the NT News. The job pays $247,170 annually with the successful applicant to be put on a fixed term contract of up to four years.
Not to detract to the focus of this article but the ” Member for Mulka Yingiya Mark Guyula is saying that he had written to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples asking them to visit the NT and see the current prison situation, which he said was causing “damage” to Indigenous people.”

Can I write to some random at the UN and complain that remote kids (12 and under) and teenagers are breaking into my house multiple times without consequence! The lovely kids got caught after i chased them and drew attention to some cops to stop them and now the cops are saying not enough evidence, please drop the case….
