A police officer who was not criminally investigated for sharing a photo of a half-naked, distressed Aboriginal woman with colleagues in a social media chat group was later recommended for a National Police Service Medal by former commissioner Michael Murphy for his “ethical and diligent service”.
Then-Alice Springs-based Acting Senior Sergeant Tim Healey’s actions became public in 2024, when Mr Murphy was questioned about the photo during a coronial inquiry into the domestic violence deaths of four Indigenous women and again nine days later at the coronial inquest into the death of Kumanjayi Walker.
As it appears the entire NT Police Excutive needs to be removed,how hard would it be to bring in the AFP to oversee a proper employment process .
I’m surprised he wasn’t charged for sharing that pic.
Word on the street, some cops were charged last year for sharing an AI pic of a high ranking cop. No resources were spared, detectives from major crime, search warrants executed immediately .
I wonder what the public think of this, but then again, maybe they’ll never find out. Apparently there charges was suppressed at court.
