More than a dozen bottles of spirits, along with wine casks and a carton of beer, destined for dry communities in the Victoria River Region were seized and destroyed by NT Police last weekend, with charges against multiple people pending for attempting to bring booze into restricted areas.

Police said four people in a car in Wadeye were pulled over by local police around 9:40pm on Saturday where a search discovered seven 750ml bottles of spirits along with “smaller bottles”.
