Four females have been arrested, including one aged 11, in connection to an armed robbery in Bakewell last night that resulted in an employee receiving cuts to his hand after he was threatened by the group with a knife, while five other youths have been arrested in relation to a late-night property crime spree and theft of a golf buggy that was driven around the Palmerston Golf Course over the weekend.

Police said they received a report of a group of four females and one male entering a service station in Bakewell around 11pm Tuesday night, where the group threatened an employee with a knife before stealing cash.

Police said the employee suffered cuts to his hand during the robbery, with the group fleeing the scene on foot into nearby parkland.

Strike Force Trident started an investigation on Wednesday morning, which led to the arrest of four females aged, 11, 13, 16, 17 and one male aged 14.

“Further investigations indicated that some of the offenders were involved in another robbery at a service station in Durack on Sunday night,” police media director Mark Wilton said in a statement.

“Investigations into the incidents remains ongoing.

“Anyone with information, including with CCTV or dash cam, is urged to contact police on 131 444. Please quote reference P25304732. Anonymous reports can be made through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via https://crimestoppersnt.com.au/.”

Meanwhile, police also arrested five other youths yesterday and today in relation to the theft of a golf buggy at the Palmerston Golf Course around 3:30am Sunday.

Police said the group of five male youths were walking through the golf course before cutting a fence on Sherringham Court and stealing the golf buggy, which they then drove around the course before abandoning it.

On Tuesday, Strike Force Trident officers arrested four male youths aged, 13, 16, 16, and 14, arresting another 14-year-old Wednesday morning.

All five are expected to be charged with trespassing, damage to property, driving/riding/using a motor vehicle without consent and theft.

Police said they wanted to thank community members for contacting police immediately and said anyone witnessing a crime occurring should report it on 131 444 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

  1. What is going on in the NT under a “We (allegedly) Lowered Crime CLP” ?
The young ones are rampaging with the punishment of a life upgrade if they are detained.

I bet airfares and furniture relocation quotes where checked by many people who witnessed this stuff!
