A public servant who helps attract international students to the Territory has risked his job by criticising the government on social media, saying he and some students are considering leaving the NT in the face of the ongoing crime crisis that saw a CDU student bludgeoned in his own bed this week, while calling on elected officials to show real leadership and fix the problem.
Ben Poveda-Alfonso, a senior policy officer with Territory Families with a focus on young Territorians, made the comments in a statement on LinkedIn following the brutal death of 23-year-old Isfaqur Rahman, who was attacked in his bed in the northern suburbs early Wednesday morning and later succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Thursday afternoon.
Please advise if NTG Territory Families sack this young man for telling the truth.
