Territory Families Minister Ngaree Ah Kit says she will be “looking very closely” at having youth workers on the streets of Alice Springs 24-hours-a-day, something the Police Minister said two weeks ago would definitely happen.
The town’s Mayor Matt Paterson meanwhile said he was hopeful but not confident there would be less crime in Alice than last summer.
More drivel from government. They failed to get youth programs in place when they were changing bail laws and age of criminal responsibility. There has been courses to boost the numbers of youth justice officers. Time for them to be engaged when they are needed most.
